I think it's important to remember that a lot of "American" names actually came from Europe. So unless the name is Native American, it came from another country.

Common first names from non-European countries include: Vijay, José, María, Guadalupe, Krishna, Vikram, Sana, Miriam, Fatima

Many families with non-European roots may give their children European first names and middle names from their culture. Like Emily Keiko Suzuki, or Emily Seo-Jun Woo, or Emily Peixian Lee
