McDonald’s Japan announced it will raise prices of a range of popular food and drink items by up to 30 yen starting Jan. 24.

A“Big Mac” that now costs 450 yen will rise to 480 yen and the five-piece “Chicken McNuggets” set (240 yen) will be priced at 260 yen. The “Egg McMuffin” set in theAsaMac”(440 yen) will rise to 460 yen.

Prices will be hiked for one-third of all products. The price of the delivery menu will also be raised.

On the other hand, the price of most “Value Sets” as well as the “HiruMac” and single items such as hamburgers and French fries, will remain the same.

Last July, McDonald’s raised prices by up to 90 yen at 184 stores, mainly in the three major metropolitan areas. The company explained that the price increases were “due to a prolonged rise in raw material prices, distribution costs, energy costs, etc.”
