The ongoing search for missing Dr Michael Mosley has taken a shocking turn after he was spotted alive after his coastal walk.

The TV doctor was spotted walking through the town of Pedi on the Aegean island of Symi yesterday at 1.52pm, around 20 minutes after setting off from St Nickolas beach on a hiking trail. Many believed that he may have run into trouble during that hike.

Helicopters, drones, dogs and a number of emergency responders are continue to scour the Dodecanese Island. Local police were informed about the disappearance of the 67-year-old British national on the island on Wednesday.

A search is being carried out by the Fire Brigade with the assistance of forces of the Hellenic Police, Civil Protection (a local and regional coordination agency), volunteers and a police dog, with drones also being used to find Dr Mosley.

Dr Mosley's agent confirmed his disappearance yesterday, telling the Mirror they are "extremely worried". His wife Dr Clare Bailey alerted the emergency services after her husband vanished on a coastal walk on Wednesday in the area of St Nicholas Beach.

Martin Lewis makes desperate Michael Mosley plea

Martin Lewis issued a plea to his followers as the search for missing TV doctor Michael Mosley continues.

The financial guru and GMB presenter, 52, first voiced his concern for Mosley, 67, on Thursday after he was reported missing by his wife Dr Clare Bailey. Admitting that he felt "disturbed" by the news, he shared his hope that he was OK.

While the overwhelming heat is being considered a factor in his disappearance, authorities are also probing the likelihood of a severe fall or even a snake bite.

Son of Brit who vanished on Greek island sends message of support to doctor's family

Michael Mosley’s family have received a message from the son of a Briton who disappeared in 2019 on a nearby island.

Earlier this week Gary, the son of 78-year-old John Tossell who went missing on the Greek island of Zakynthos in 2019, urged Mr Mosley’s family to stay positive and not give up.

Speaking to Sky, he said: "When I read the story it’s like a cut and paste of my father. It’s the same story but a different person.

"I wish nothing but love to the Mosley family as I know exactly what they’re going through, and it must be awful for them out there at the minute. I want to tell them not to give up."

'Race against time' to find TV doc after new sighting'

The search for Michael Mosley was described as a “race against time” by a Greek local, after it switched to a treacherous mountainous path.

CCTV footage from a house at the edge of Pedi’s small marina at the far end of the village showed the presenter entering the path at about 2pm on Wednesday. One of the rescuers said his decision was “inexplicable”. She said it would have taken a fit young person three hours to walk to the port.

She said: “The path is not easy to follow, if he took a wrong turn, he would be lost. He could be anywhere, It is a race against time.” The little-used path goes inland rather than following the coast. The search was called off at 8pm Greek time on Friday night as dusk fell, and will resume on Saturday morning.

Other residents of the Greek island of Symi are out in force searching for the missing TV star, according to the daughter of the island's mayor. Police and firefighters have been using drones to try to locate Dr Mosley, while divers were also searching for the 67-year-old who vanished after setting off on a walk to the centre of the island on Wednesday.

The mayor's daughter Mika Papakalodouka told the PA news agency that "a lot of" island residents joined the search using their own boats to find British national Mr Mosley, who disappeared in high temperatures. Ms Papakalodouka grew up on the island but now spends the majority of the year in Athens while studying maritime business remotely at Solent University, Southampton.

Locals remain ‘hopeful’ in Michael Mosley search

Residents of the island of Symi have posed a series of theories about what could've happened to the missing TV doctor, but said they "hope" he will be found soon.

“People are saying all sorts of things but one theory is that he took a boat from the island because it’s an easy hike along an old goat path, the walk he was on, and they’ve made it more safe up from the beach than it once was,” one hotel owner told The Independent.

“From the goat path it’s a steep fall if he was dizzy with the heat, and it’s onto rocks below but it’s quite a wide path, enough for a group to walk along. It’s one way, you can’t go wrong, and it would be more dangerous in a car. That’s why lots of people are saying he must have got a boat along the way. Others are questioning whether he meant to leave like this, wanted to, because why not take your mobile phone? It doesn’t make sense,” she said.

Mayor's daughter says residents are out in force looking for him

Residents of the Greek island of Symi have been out in force searching for missing British TV doctor Michael Mosley, according to the mayor's daughter.

Police and firefighters have been using drones to try to locate Mr Mosley, while divers were also searching for the 67-year-old who vanished after setting off on a walk to the centre of the island on Wednesday.

The mayor's daughter Mika Papakalodouka told the PA news agency that "a lot of" island residents have joined the search using their own boats to find British national Mr Mosley, who disappeared in high temperatures.

Ms Papakalodouka grew up on the island but now spends the majority of the year in Athens while studying maritime business remotely at Solent University, Southampton.

"It is a small island, people talk. We're good people actually here. Everybody is looking for him," the 20-year-old told PA.

"It's such a small island to get lost on. It's so weird for us. Everybody is worried and looking for him."

Ms Papakalodouka said she has been translating for her father, Eleftherios Papakalodouka, who has been mayor of Symi for 22 years, confirming that the island has around 300 permanent residents.

Mr Mosley disappeared after going on a walk from Saint Nikolas beach.

Ms Papakalodouka said the path he is thought to have taken is "not dangerous at all, but we have 40C outside so it's easy to get dizzy".

Moment CCTV captures TV doc in last known sighting

Shocking CCTV footage shows missing TV doctor Michael Mosley after the coastal walk many feared could have caused him harm.

Dr Michael Mosley headed out from St Nickolas beach on the Aegean island of Symi on Wednesday afternoon at around 1.30pm. He was planning to walk along the coast to the village of Pedi - which is said to take around 20 minutes.

Some said that the hike was dangerous, leading the search and rescue effort to focus a large part of the operation on that hiking trail.

However, CCTV footage emerging in the past few hours appeared to show the This Morning star walking around his destination point at around the same time he would've expected to arrive.

Last sighting of missing TV doc spotted on CCTV after coast walk

In a shocking new twist, CCTV images claim TV doctor Michael Mosley did make it across the coastal path into the nearby town.

Dr Mosley is seen on surveillance footage on the main road of Pedi at 13.50pm on Wednesday afternoon, around 20 minutes after he is thought to have hiked a coastal route. Up until now, many had thought he may have fainted or fallen off a cliff during the walk.

The CCTV was shared by local site MEGA after being recovered by cops who have been "combing" the island of Symi, where the presenter was holidaying with his wife Dr Clare Bailey.

Greek police say an ongoing major search and rescue operation on the small eastern Aegean island of Symi has still not located the British doctor.

Michael Mosley’s four children are reportedly flying to Symi to help search for their missing dad.

Alexander, Jack, Daniel and Katherine will retrace his last known steps, according to The Telegraph.

His brother Arthur told the paper: “We are very shocked and perplexed by what has happened to him. His children have now all gone to Greece and are walking the path trying to find him.

“We know as much as what the police and the media has reported, but we are closely following the situation, and hope that there’s a good outcome. Unfortunately, when you get to my age or his (Michael) age, accidents like this can happen.”

Michael Mosley's pal reveals one thing that 'doesn't make sense' about disappearance

A friend of Michael Mosley has shared the one thing they "can't understand" about the TV doctor's disappearance.

Amid the search mission, the friend of the person Michael was staying with has admitted to not being able to understand how anyone could get lost on the part of the island he was last seen on. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live’s Drive programme, the friend explained that they were baffled over Michael becoming a missing persons case due to the route he chose home.

“It’s a road that sort of heads over the mountain side but it’s been recently widened and there is only one route, so it’s not possible to lose your way," said the friend.

“So, it is probably a 20-minute walk down the side of the mountain, but it’s not overly rugged or something that would be seen to be too dangerous, it’s something that tourists do every day in the summer. I’m having trouble understanding how you could get lost.”

Divers searching for Dr Michael Mosley in water off Symi

Divers are searching for Dr Michael Mosley off the Greek island of Symi, the deputy mayor has confirmed.

The local police department restarted scouring the island on Friday morning after pausing the search-and-rescue operation for the 67-year-old British national on Thursday night.
