The 30 best places to go out in Lindos (2024)

Lindos Acropolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that contains ruins from the Mycenaeans, Byzantines, Knights of St John and Ottomans. The site features stunning ancient remains and long-range coastal views that are out of this world.

Visited around 1 hour before sunset in the evening. The orange glow across the Acropolis was stunning. Highlight of our holiday. A must see. The steps are not as bad as some say I am 55 and managed easily. Well worth the money for the views etc.

History and beauty come at a price. Glad we visited the ruins and experienced the view, however we thought the entry cost of €12 per adult and €6 per child expensive as there were no facilities on site and the site could have been better maintained with the monies charged. If you have walking difficulties or are disabled avoid visiting as its very uneven walking surfaces and at times very steep with no safety rails. The views are lovely but would have been enjoyed more if able to relax on a comfortable chair with a coffee or cold drink.

Stunning area and great for views and photos. We walked up in the mid day heat of July. Would not recommend 🤣 very little shade and very busy! Bring lots of water and if you're bringing little ones... Be prepared to carry them!Overall a lovely experience with stunning architectural history

Lindos is a city on the island of Rhodes that was once one of the main cities on the island. It was located on the east coast, near a cape that bears his name. It is located 55 km south of the city of Rhodes. They charge you €8 to enter, you can't bring puppies but it's very ironic because there are cats inside and what they tell you is that they defecate or urinate and damage the monument, but cats also relieve themselves, right? And I say this because we travel with an emotional support dog. It is a truly magical place and I highly recommend you go. The little town that is at the foot of the Acropolis is beautiful. You can also buy very nice handicrafts. There are also amazing restaurants with beautiful views.

Amazing place. I strongly recommend the visit. The ticket costs 12€ and the children are free. I recommend visiting early in the morning, after 9 starts to become busy and full of groups of tourists. I didn't have problems getting tickets since I was there on Monday early, but later on maybe it would be better to have it...it got crowded there.

Amazing place with interesting history and breathtaking views. Entry us 12 Euro for adult, 6 Euro for 65+ and free for anyone under 25 years old. I think the place is worth the price. The best place for pictures is at the very end, you can see St Paul's Bay and whole Lindos from there. Would totally recommend visiting.

Visited lindos in January, it was a good opportunity to see this historical monument without a big crowd, all the shops were closed in the town which is normal as they only open during the summer. I've also been in July 2 years, the vibe is completely different, definitely more vibrant, lively and crowded. It's worth it to visit no matter the time.

Truly blown away by both the location of this huge temple overlooking Lindos, and the size of the structure as much of it remains.Cost was €12 for adults and €6 for children but was well worth it. Views are stunning and if you take your time it can take a good couple of hours.

The acropolis is incredible. Not going to lie it is a climb and the queue was really long but it was so worth it. Bring lots of water and make sure you cover up if it's sunny because there is very little shade. Wear sensible shoes and allow yourself a few hours to get up there and back again. Absolutely stunning though, would highly recommend.

Breathtaking ruins of Lindos that not only allow you to immerse yourself in the history, but gives an astounding view of the Lindos area and the bays surrounding. Do be prepared however as the climb is no mean feat, and in the baking heat it really was a challenge!

A must visit this place if you are visiting Rode. The ticket costs € 12. We were lucky, there weren’t very many people, but it’s advisable to visit here in the morning. Climbing is required, but the road is definitely not difficult. The images from above are very impressive!

It's worth the visit. The outstanding view is probably the reason why you should visit it.Ticket cost 10 euros and you can buy it online in advance to skip the line. From central parking there is shuttle bus to the village for 50 cents. It saves you about a half of the way and it's just like a one minute drive. You still will have to climb the path to the top from village. It's more useful to take it on the way back, uphill.

It's a well preserved acropolis, the best one on the island. But make sure to order your tickets in advance because you can skip the line if you do. I wouldn't recommend this with children as it is a safety hazard on the way up and the way down. Falling is very possible as there are no fences or guardrails. The view is magnificent but the climb can be extremely difficult on warm parts of the day. I would advice bringing water, decent walkingshoes and a hat.

Amazing place! We think 🤔 should be a little cheaper for a public attraction... We paid 12E/person in the entrance, there was no line at noon. Buying in advance you will pay 16E. The place isn't very big, you can experience in less than 1h.

It was an amazing location with absolutely breathtaking scenery from the top of the surrounding area including the coast and fantastic bay below. My partner and I went on a Sunday and it was free entry which was a very nice surprise. Most importantly it wasn't overcrowded and for taking photos and reading the information of the exhibition was very easy. The visit of the Acropolis took roughly 1-2 hours with the amount of information and photo opportunities available and even that was doing it briskly.Would definitely agree it's a must see on a visit to Rhodes!

Not the most exiting place I've ever looked around to be honest. The whole thing is little more than a ruin, with very little in the way of museum standard exhibits. Access for anyone with mobility issues is a no, also no handrails on the steps etc, so a little tricky for anyone to navigate around. They could do a lot more I feel (exhibit rooms / toilets / etc) and is a bit overpriced at €12 per person. The views from the top of it over Lindos and the surrounding area are pretty phonomenal though, so I've rated it four stars, rather than three.

We arrived really early.. Around 8:30am... Place was peaceful, quiet. We climbed the stairs rather than waling what we thought was a longer path off to the left. Honestly, the stairs are not too bad at all.. I guess for elderly or really young it would certainly be a challenge. There are no barriers on the stars so you need to be cautious about that. Good footwear highly recommended. We managed to get some cracking pictures without having to wait for a space. Would recommend. We were up and down in 40mins..just in time for the streams of buses offloading and I mean there were literally hundreds of people walking towards the acropolis.. Would do it again. 👍🏻

Absolutely spectacular! Free access to roam around these ruins with lots of interesting (and discreet) information boards. €12 entry fee well worth the money. If you visit Lindos you have to come to the Acropolis.NB: closes at 5.20pm and an hour is sufficient to go round everything so getting there later in the day ensures no crowds and it’s cooler - more atmospheric too.

5* spot5* view5* service#no accessibilityIt is a great antique sightseeing on Rhodes island. It is situated at the top of the Lindos town hill, and you need to be quite sportive to get here by winding streets, full of stairs. No accessible way to get inside, cause the whole medieval town is a challenge to walk for disabled people due to high elevation. Worth visit for beautiful ancient ruins.

We went to Lindos Acropolis in the middle of November as part of the private tour, fairly early in the morning to beat the crowd. There was hardly anybody there, and we had the Acropolis all to ourselves. It took us 15 min to go up there. There are some nice view of the ocean, the bay, and the town of Lindos beneath it. We saw a few cats as we were exploring. As we came down, there were a lot more people going up, and we had to wait as some of the paths are very narrow that only one person can go through.I highly recommend the Lindos Acropolis, but go there early.

Extremely overcrowded and overpriced. There’s free entry for children from EU countries. Otherwise €12 entry which is definitely not worth it, unless you love history but there aren’t many facts around anyway! Entry should be €5. Extremely overcrowded in October. Almost no shade anywhere and it’s so hot! And the donkeys are exploited for tourists. Sad.

Olivia — Google review

Stunning , but some of the buildings are rebuilds.V uneven underfoot , so wouldn't advise for those who have disability problems.Quite a climb to top, can get donkey 🫏 but at a cost!12 euros to get in and quite a queue to buy tickets even in October.Few people trying to jump queue.Fantastic views from top.
