LaTEMPA Linda Diane Linda Diane LaTempa, 57, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007. She was born May 12, 1949, to the late Charles Ballard and Nadine Ballard. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Tina and Randall Cook, Earnest and Tina Ciafardini, Patricia and Karl Hughes and John Ciafardini and Alicia Lang. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; one sister, Cathy and husband Jay Light; one brother, Charles and wife Rita Ballard and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She will be dearly missed.

MASON Blanche Evelyn Jamison Blanche Evelyn Jamison Mason, 94, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2007 with her beloved husband, Edward Mason and family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elder Christian and Ida (Fisher) Jamison; one sister, Mary Ruthrough; two half sisters, Annie Montgomery and Bessie Bower; one half brother, Henry Jamison; and two brothers, Joe Jamison and Johnnie Jamison. Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Edward Mason; one daughter, Charlotte Mason and her husband, Larry MacDonald; and one son, Wade "Buddy" Mason; half sister, Rosa Beckner; sister-in-law, Mary Jamison; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat completed his mission on this earth and obtained the peace that he so desired.

He was born in Roanoke, Va. on October 3, 1967, and became a member of Morning Star Baptist Church at an early age where he sang with the Junior Choir and served also as a Junior Usher. Pat attended Roanoke City Schools where he was senior class president, graduating in 1986 from Patrick Henry High School. He went on to attend North Carolina State University, and then attained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1991 from Virginia State University (VSU) where he graduated Cum Laude. After college, he enlisted into the United States Army and served his country as a Specialist 4 with the U.

S. Army Special Operations Command (SOC) at Fort Bragg, N.C. Pat accomplished many missions during his short life: active in 4-H, foreign exchange student to Japan, athlete in the field of track, high school trip to Europe ((visiting France and London), and the City School program. At Virginia State University, he was a Math tutor and a member of the ROTC fraternity of Pershing Rifles. Pat was his Dad's companion in fishing, hunting and target practicing.

"Ed" as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was born in Roanoke, Va. to the late Edmond Wright and Lillie Corena Swain Wright. He was educated in Roanoke City Schools.

During his career, he worked for Norfolk and Western for 25 years, Burrell Memorial Hospital for 10 years and retired from the Roanoke Times at age 72. "Ed" was well known as the trombone player with the Aristocrats Orchestra for many years. He also was a lifelong member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church. He was married for 60 years to the late Arnesia Wise Wright also of Roanoke. "Ed" was preceded in death by one daughter, Jacqueline W.

Slade of Danville, two half brothers, Aubrey and Lewis Thomason and half sister, Clara Thomason. Survivors include two sons, Clarence E. Wright, Jr. (Peggy) of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Steven W. Wright (Mary) of Charlottesville, one daughter, Joyce W.

White (William) of Roanoke; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances Wright of New York City; and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Young was also the of Young Grocery in Waidsboro and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Rural Letter Carrier. Mr. Young was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Smith Young; parents, Grover and Lula Young; brothers, Lawrence and Buford (Mose) Young; and a sister, Mildred Deal.

COLLINS Norma Williams Norma Williams Collins, 69, of Limerick, Pa. and formerly of Hoges Chapel in Giles County passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2007. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grand mother and great-grandmother. Born on January 1, 1938 in Hoges Chapel, she was a daughter of the late Martin Luther and Frances Clementine (Smith) Williams, and the beloved wife of Robert L. Collins, Sr.

She was also the devoted mother of Robert Jr. of Norristown, Roger Sr. (Nenee) of Collegevillle, Robin L. (Pete) Prosock of East Norriton, Pa. and Reginald L.

(Cheryl) of Norristown. She is survived by her 11 grandchildren; two great- her brother, Theodore Williams; and her sister, Frankie Westover. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald L. She was a longtime member of Grove United Methodist Church where over the years she taught Sunday School and served on several committees. She helped with PTA and was a leader in the Girt Scout program.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William Dickenson, Jr. after 57 years of marriage. She is survived by her four children, James D.
